Hey Mustafa!
September 29, 2006 05:41PM
My girlfriend and I have been discussing spending New Years in Istanbul if we can get there for not too much money. What's the best airline to keep an eye on? We're also planning to go to Europe for most of next summer and want to make a trip to Turkey during that time too. The nice thing about that trip will be we can fly for free to London (her stepdad is with United) on standby and then once there just rail and Ryanair around for a few months, hopefully chasing down every WRC event we can.

They eat 'murikans in Turkey. They eat dog too. The Turkish diet takes years to adjust to. 57.8% of all tourists do not return from Turkey and are presumed to be eaten. The water in Turkey causes instantaneous projectile poopies...very dangerous...the press does not report on this phenomenon for obvious reasons. As can be seen from this video...http://share.ilovevideoz.com/media/playvideo.aspx?f=flash7&cid=37DA993B09E14FD5B089B21C1350781B...the entertainment in Turkey can be quite dull. After the above video was filmed the "real" entertainment began, see here...http://share.ilovevideoz.com/media/playvideo.aspx?f=flash7&cid=0AC1DB1978C4446F81845CA547525B1D...(please turn your sound up).

Go to Iowa, cheap, close and you speak the language. Same entertainment however seen here by the Iowa National Gaurd...http://www.vidilife.com/video_play_835277_Ram_vs_Soldier.htm?campaign=159..., take a book!!

Turkish Airlines (THY and it also stands for They Hate You) is good.
Pegasus and OnurAir are private and cheap companies they have flights as low as $1+taxes.

Good timing I'd say. I can give you a boat load of info on where to go what to do.

Going to Turkey in winter might not be the best idea as you will miss out on many opportunities on seeing some of the more beautiful stuff. Plane tickets will be cheaper in the winter. Turkish Airlines and Delta are the only direct flights from USA. There are many alternative indirect flights available like lufthansa and finair.

You can provide tourism info from any us embassy
LA should be your regional embassy/ consulate:
www.laturk.com

If you provide me specific dates and so on I can obtain some ticket pricing thru some turkish travel agents I know in the NY area. Do NOT CALL TURKISH AIRLINES DIRECTLY. If you do, do not buy a ticket from them. They will ripp you off. If you will need any other help shoot me an email @ oscthewizard@hotmail.com

I think we may just save it for my retirement trip this coming summer. It'll be a big one and will include not just one, but four WRC rounds. Sardinia, Acropolis, Finland, and Deutschland. After Acropolis we'll probably head to Turkey then try to find Brian and Erika to ride along with them on their around the world journey for a few weeks.

Why not run Rally Of Turkey while you are there ? It won't be WRC but will be ERC. I can hook you up with a car for CHEAP,

He's running a bidness clearing out foreclosed and abandoned houses and working like a slave!
Talked to him recently and he's said he's jammed solid and there's like 69,000 foreclosed houses in the Penis Azirona area.

Work work work like a jerk, eh?
