Well if we get what those teeming masses of gawdless rec Chinese get then we'll get a 2.5 Turbo Diesel, but maybe we're jsut too good to have simple strong turbo diesel with manual trannies.

They are no slower up hills that my Chebbie 6.2 non turbo diesel with the manual box
But they are stingier.

Here's were I saw it-

However the van in the picture is a Tourneo Connect(but sometimes called a Transit) and not the larger Transit. It's FWD and only comes in a diesel in the UK, at least according to the PDF download from Ford UK website.

Hey the sprinter came to the US which I definitely expect. I would assume the larger Transit will be hitting the shores as well. For the other ugly thing, I think every company in europe (Renault, Fiat, VW, Skoda)has an ugly sibling to it but with usually 1.9tdi s

The factory in Kocaeli Turkey was the most successful Ford factory in the world this year. So no surprises there winking smiley

Btw I am sure thats got something to do with them competing with 3 WRC Focii and 10 Fiesta Trophy cars...

I'm not afraid to bump a 3 year old thread.... winking smiley

I drove one a month ago to try it out. Very roomy. Easy to drive. Would make a great service vehicle... for a motorcycle. It's FWD, won't tow a car. It would make a great rally organizing vehicle, actually. *drool* Did fine on the highway. Floats a bit, but jeez, did I expect it to be like my impreza with aftermarket suspension?

Overall nice.

Grassroots rally. It's what I think about.

The transit Connect is just a bigger focus. Too bad they only come with the 2lt Duratec and not the diesel.

Used Sprinters are finally starting to get to an affordable price range. I'll probably get one to daily drive and use to tow in the next year or so.
