They are what they are. The only thing I asked was how's the fit. How's the fit? John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! Pacific Standard Time is 3 hours behind Eastern Standard Time. |
A nice slip fit using 1.5 x .120 wall box tubing. Might need some massaging after welding though, or they could pull out the sides a bit for more squeeze before tightening up. |

I have not. I've been in California driving the living crap out of a 2002 M Roadster and a 2013 550i with the dual turbo V8. It's been my first opportunity to show my 12 year old son what real acceleration and modern automotive craft is like. The looks on his face after gunning it up an onramp in the 550 or his first burnout ever in the M Roadster, those are looks I'll never forget. Terror, excitement and glee all mixed into one as our stomachs wrap around our spines. Ahhh, fatherhood.
We'll be back to our Honda and Volvo tomorrow and I would love some instruction on getting those bearings out. |

Back to heading in the right direction...
Towers finally done, lower mounts done, trailing arms boxed in. Just have to clean up the arms, mounts and axle and paint them. Any paint suggestions? Also got pre-bent main hoop and half-lateral bars for a REALLY good price from a lunatic 240 rallyist. Time to put in towers and start on cage. |

So, trying to get back on track now that the weather is nicer.
Made a 17.3" wood template to act as a fully collapsed coilover. I left the old trailing arms and shocks on and jacked the trailing arm till the stock shock had no more travel. Bolted the template into the tower and onto the trailing arm and tacked the tower in. Then it was just a matter of taking off the old trailing arms and bolting on the arms i boxed in, then bolting in coilovers. I left an extra two inches so i can raise the towers if need be... gonna bolt in the completed 1030 axle with 4.88 gearing tomorrow when i have help. Then i'll check wheel clearance and check all the bumpstops before the final trimming and welding in. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/16/2016 04:54PM by Paul Buck. |

Got me worried.
You planning on mounting the shock to the axel with those nice tabs I make? You planning on using circle track swaged links upper and lower?
