Ha ha, right as I was typing that up! Yep, didn't make it to day two. We could have, but we were really limping the car along, we'd pulled several all nighters leading up to the race. Got the broke car back to the hotel at 12:30am on day one (two?) Needed to be heading to the next stage I think by 7 the next morning? We were just physically and mentally out of gas, so we pulled the plug. Lots of ideas to make sure we finish next year. If I can find your pics anywhere let me know! We are a little short.

I just got back to NH yesterday so I haven't been able to edit many yet. I'll hopefully have the full event album up on my FB page (www.Facebook.com/StrykerRallyMedia) and there should be a few of you there. Let me know if you're interested in purchasing any high-resolution copies. Hope you have better luck next season! |

I had more problems with the dust reflecting on my visor (I ran with a closed face helmet). I actually masked off the top of the dash and sprayed 2 coats of a light textured spray on bedliner, then 3 coats of matte black. I thought the dash and gauges looked too cool to do the whole thing. I think that did the trick, and when the sun was behind us I don't remember it bothering me.

Better late than never update - we went to the 2016 Prescott Rally, another DNF (engine mount broke and the MAF sensor mashed into the hood) but we only missed 3 stages out of the event and got some great experience. Build improvements continue, I hope to have some suspension upgrades to share soon.
Some video evidences (previously requested) :-) First 2 are 20 seconds, third video is a full stage. Near death on the second video maybe? We'll never know. Jason Hamilton Phoenix, Arizona 1990 Ford Mustang 5.0 It never troubles the wolf how many the sheep may be. |

i'm torn right now!
i'm thinking of selling the stalled mustang project and building something else, i even went so far as to buy a 73 vw beetle (if they can desert race in class 11 why not rally?) but i'm also looking at other options, mitsu rally truck or mirage/lancer, suzuki esteem, even kicked the idea around of a subaru or a suzuki vitara/chevy tracker. the idea of a 2wd mini truck has its appeal lots of the stuff from the mustang could be used on one, downside for me to the mini truck, i'm 6'2" and need to lose a couple stone. upside to the mustang i fit, i have lots of spare parts and i own it. I would rather drive a slow car fast as a fast car slow! first rule of cars: get what makes you happy, your the one paying for it! |
