Careful! Not 100% sure if all the pulleys and accessory drive stuff is all 'xactly the same from B21/B23 to the B230 things..the snout of the crank and the crank "vibration enhancer" thing aka front crank pully is different---but not 100% of all the pulleys are all in same place.

That kit doesn't work for the b230.
For the b230 I pull out the compressor, use a rouighly inch thick stack of washers ( I suppose one could get fancy and mackine a spacer) and a longer bolt, to move the power steering compressor forward and get a longer belt. |
The fancy spacer kit should work on any car that has the older "ham can" saginaw pump. The newer saginaw type-2 pumps need the stack-o-washers, or you can run one loooong belt around the crank, power steering pump, water pump, and the alternator. |

Hate to be all contrary but I would not recommend running all those accessories on one belt. There would not be enough pulley contact in my opinion. I will most likely work but there is a reason that car manufacturers rarely run more than two accessories on one belt (unless it is a serpentine belt) and volvo decided they needed two belts for the alternator and water pump. |

Back from summer break and finally getting some shop time with the advanced class. We repaired the messed up portion of the engine harness and the car starts and runs reliably. Still have not figured out why it is not charging the battery. In the process of swapping in our third used alternator. I'll keep the updates coming but just want you all to know that we are not fading silently into the night. Now that school is back, we have a rally car to build!

No I was road tripping with the family. The wife is a teacher too so we usually bug out during the summer. I literally rolled into Ukiah and saw the after party at the Wingstop! I plan to be here for it this year. Either helping out or racing (depends on how much work/testing gets done)! |
