Exactly. I would go as far back as possible, without interfering with travel. Don't for get to hole-saw, and dimple die them for increased strength. It will also make it easier to clean out, so you don't have dirt. mud, etc... sticking up there causing corrosion issues over time.

Nice... ![]() But it looks like a guy could "be inspired by" that design and make something in steel for a whole lot less dough.. Maybe buy the bush but fab the rest.. Maybe. Oh edit: NEFR is Snooze England Furry Rally John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! Ah thanks! I could do dat probably, those bushes are cheap(ish) and steel from the local scrap yard is too. Oh and I do have a lathe so I can turn a bushing holder and then weld on a bracket to attach it to the diff. Hmm.. |

Hell you could go all medieval on the cover and hack off the YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGE bush on the udder side and make 2 bush holders and use a smaller bush---- maybe something like 1.5" OD x 1-1.25" long.. In life more bush is good, but in cars less bush is more. More better-er. John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! What's the theory behind two smaller bushes rather than two larger ones? |

The larger the bush, the more the movement.. And the worse it is when the bush begins to deteriorate. 2 for balance..Friggin diffs are heavy (dropped an Xratty 7.5 diff on my toes when packing one for UPS once. Broke the fawk outta my big toe---didn't even wat to look till I got back from UPS..Walking it was like squish squish squish cause my shoe was soaked in blood...Toe nail fell off but a couple of years later grew back all gross deformed---chopped the whole toenail off and "killed" the nail bed so it would grow back---but it came back even more deformed--I'm a fawkin mutant!!!!) Spread load to two places on the cover and two places stress into body shell. John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! Damn dude, that's awful, those shits are like 70 lbs... OK, that makes sense definitely. Time will tell on this large bush. If I start to get premature clunks then I'll look into some smaller bushes. At the time, my pride and my wallet are telling me not to replace a brand new bush. However, I'll keep your advice in mind. ![]() |
