Hey have you checked what the caliper piston diameters? If you know the piston diameters front and rear then you might be able to get a real good guess on the master sizes.... or if you wanted you could waste a lot of time with some 'pooters to figure out the same thing..
What are you gonna do about the big rubber bushes in the suspension links and arms? What pistons? Nice project, all you need is a better hat than that Sub-a-rat hat. John, I have calculated the sizing of my master cylinders using brakemath.
Front 7/10" bore Rear 7/8" bore Front suspension is getting redone with Tubular steel, and Delrin bushings. Rear suspension is getting spherical heim ends, We are still thinking of an idea to get rid of that big rubber dildo materiel of bushings on the trailing arms. Eventually we are going to re-do the trailing arms. Oh, as far at the sub-a-rat hat, It makes a good garage hat, that I dont mind getting dirty, My mitsu hats dont get grease on them. Good, I did some suspenders for a guy local with an EVO and the huge floppy "gen-u-ine rubberoid" stuff was freaking huge, and rubbery. I was going to call Nick Arias and ask him for imput on which piston would best suit my application. But I am leaning twards CP Pistons. Specifically I wanted to keep the nice .0035 cylinder clearances, and Brian pointed out that in rally (They built Choinier's "Hyundi-bitchi G62Bs so they knew what rally was---and I had lots of time to nose around in the bottom end and oooogle the head) much like NASCAR we run the motors hard for some extended period, and then we putter relatively speaking us on transits , them when they get a yellow flag. He said if we have cooling for water and oil good for the hard running then we have overcapacity when cruising and few things will wear a bore out like excessive clearances and lousy sealing and oil wash down and heat in and gas and gasses into the bottom end. The alloy J&E began popularizing , CP uses as well and its damn near the same thing Mahle used like forever--which I used in every race motor i had from 1970 thru 1997. Now since CP came around, I have been a CP Dealer, and I use them because if the excellent customer support and because i have had the same straight talking guy for 7 years now. Update for tonight, Left side sub-frame mount pre weld.
![]() Post weld ![]() Here you can see the Left side back stay, and all four of the sub-frame mounts. More updates on the roll cage today, today we were able to get 8 bars placed and welded in.
