My first rally car was a Dodge Colt turbo. Of course, it was mostly Mitsubishi...

I like simplicity since I don't really like to work on cars that much. smiling smiley

Maybe I'm just dumb... but I thought MS2 was just MS1 with a faster chip.

Like I could take the MS1 in my car and pop out the chip and pop in a $80 MS2 chip and presto, MS2.

Unless it's the firmware that is the problem, in which case, there's probably some beta-test out there in MS-land. Some of the RX-7 specific firmware (so you can have the fancy leading/trailing ignition crap that racers don't use) is only available for MS1. I don't think it's a technical problem, it's just that nobody's bothered to port it over to the different processor. (IIRC the MS1 is programmed in assembly language while the MS2 uses C, or one of the other high level languages)

Pete you're right, it's upgradeable.

But he doesn't have base maps for the ms2 available yet or any of the other features.
