We use camelbak's (with water) in the car. Zip tie the tube to the shoulder strap, so they are very accessible. The only stage I've ever drank mid-stage was the 28 mile Nahwatzel in 90 degree plus heat.

No growlers in the car except when the car crashes. smiling smiley

If beer transport is your main priority why not invest in a cool shirt setup. Then you just put the beer in the cooler with the ice for the cool shirt. Maybe the beer will counter act some of the sissyness some probably associate with a cool-shirt.

I once mixed .5L of Gin with 1.5L tonic, about 1 lime and a bunch of ice in a 3L camel back. I took this to an outdoor music fest in San Jose a few years ago.

Talk about intravenous alcohol intake. I think I drank the whole thing in about 2 hours.

Needless to say I wasn't standing for much after that.

Plus, any water in the camelback tasted like ginny-lime after that, I had to throw it out.

If my sister (codrver) requests water in it, she gets her wish. If she says nothing i just shove bottles and granola bars in it. Can easily fit 4 bottles in it.

I do drink water often normally particularly when i am driving but When out on the stages i usually drink at least one bottle after every stage and take a piss before every start of stage. Its nice to have extra bottles or a camelback just in case you run out of rad fluid (been there done that!)

We've used em for years.

Some tips:
1) Blow the water back into the bag after taking a drink. Eliminates gross 100 degree first sips.
2) Try to run insulated sleeve over the drink tube.
3) Make sure you can't sit on the valve. Wet seat.
4) Don't drink on stage (duh).

Hydration is very important over the course of a weekend...
