Anyone here make seat brackets?
May 26, 2009 02:02PM
I'd really hate to pay $150/PAIR (so, +$300 for both seats) for some simple side mounting seat brackets when I know there's probably SOMEone one on here that could do it for less. (?)

Hell, if I could bend and/or weld aluminum, I'd be all over it.

Something like this:

but I'd prefer AL since then I wouldn't have to worry about painting/rust, etc.

shit, just cut/bend the aluminum-num for me, i can drill the holes.

2 pairs.

Let me know some pricing. thx. Jon

I can set you up (with holes) for $175 if you bring me a cardboard template of what you want.

I'll trade you a set of these for two of those jack stands you made. winking smiley
Or I'll sell you them if you're interested. I only have one set though as I used them on the driver's side for the adjustability then realized don't need forward back adjustability really in my car.

Their not too bad from Checkpoint new either...

grant...so I did good on the pin stands? grinning smiley I wish I could bang them out a bit quicker, but my little garage just ain't setup that way.

are sparco/momo seat mounts interchangeable? the $69 ones that Gene linked to aren't too bad.

Sparco/Momo stuff are intechangeable.
I think Racetech is the only one that doesn't use the same distance between bolt holes...

Yeah, your pin stands look good to me.
What are you doing to get the sharp angle on the tubing? Hmm. Maybe that's what I'll do this weekend. Find someone with a band saw and work on making some. I've got all the steel for them and have a pair that I stole from a friend. smiling smiley

yes, I used a pretty standard metal bandsaw...we had to make a small custom jig to hold the piece at the extreme angle (72 degrees from perpendicular), but once we got that set up, it wasn't too hard, just time consuming.

Hey Jon, I still have a few sets of my 6061 seat brackets. I designed these in SolidWorks. The brackets are designed to allow for super low mounting. Sorry for the bad photos. I had to use my cellphone since I don't have my camera with me. Please shoot me an email for pricing and better images. I can even email you an eDrawing file.
