Not too fast with the most bit there.
I've had John Lane's dyno sheet in my hands and recall something like 530 ft/lbs

Except that is the problem and and the main point of saying the Mustang doesn't have enough steering angle to keep up with all the (too much) throttle steering.

Josh and Cody looked awfully well prepared with 130-150 whp. They just keep their foot in it and drive like true MaxAttackers.

Just like any kind of racing, there can be a point of diminishing returns on money spent vs. result. Getting the last few percent can cost the most money.

HOWEVER...What's DIFFERENT about rally from other kinds of racing is that so many ills of the equipment can be made up for by stellar driving.

Put 220 hp in a mk2 Golf or CRX and I think you'd have an SRT-4 beater.

But LAUCHLIN and Karen won that rally, not the the Dodge.

Lurch,

WORD! That is what I love so much about rally. Skill, bravery and commitment will win the day!

In my opinion ,,, Skill and preparation negate bravery.
I would also say that, again in my opinion, risk management (not risk avoidance) is one of the most important skills in rally.

Kieth,

I agree. The thing is that skill and preparation seem to be difficult for most people. There is also a fine line between bravery and stupidity. Risk management is critical.

Speaking for myself, confidence and it's companion, commitment, are the difficulty. That is why I admire people like Tom B. and Adam C.
