Yes! Piccies!

Odd how a thread about fuel cells lead to flames.

Okay here's a pic:

Carefully note that there is no pump - he's hand pressurizing the TANK to 6psi to feed the carb...

Any pics yet Tom. You're such a tease tongue sticking out smiley Think of the little people

I'm trying to figure out what the hell I'm going to do with these damn fuel pumps. Can't run in tank. I think I might just throw 2 of the facet pumps up in the engine bay and say the hell with it. Since I'm on carbs I only need a couple PSI to be happy anyways

Thanks Tom

Damn it why isn't that legal in the US Mr. Hurst. I would be done with my fuel cell install if I could use dryer vent hose for the fill. But no, I've got to build a aluminum box that bolts over the entire cell.....argh

Hurst and his suck-buddies have chastised me and any body else who has dared to question their unique interpretation of the fuel cell rules----the wording of which we must stress, has not changed since time began.

Their words were "EVERY Major sanctioning body in the world requires" what THEY or rather HE requires, and who needs examples from 5 or 10 or 15 years ago.

No response was given when photographic evidence was presented from current FIA cars without his nonsensical box on a box a on a box idea.

So obviously this car must be some obscure car in some obscure country in some obscure event with some non- MAJOR sanctioning body.

I mean who ever heard of Finnland, or Dubya ARe Seee?

My,my , my you are a vile individual John...such name calling, a childish, low brow admission to not having the ability to argue like an adult..the fucking pic was put up late last nite and you really expect the whole world to stop what they are doing and formulate a reply? Really?

Yup that is definitely an uncovered fuel cell, only one I've seen in few years now. The unsecured drier hose is a nice touch also. The cage isn't even current so it's an old build. Why it got thru tech is a mystery, maybe read the thread on bad scrutineers on SS ( if you can read SS).

One pic of a car ( that should be the poster child for what not to do) proves what? Did you see the old Escort rebuild that Logic did on SS earlier this year? It had a proper , compliant fuel cell that was covered. I'll try and find the link.

Anyhow, Why did Bush get re-elected? Why did OJ get off the first time? Where are the WMDs in Iraq? WTF is with Ellen being on Idol this year. Why are you such an asshole in the internet, you're not like that in person...Why did that car get thru tech?

I don't know, but I'm pretty sure that particular car isn't going to be the one that sets the standard in the US.

Sincerely.
a goose stepping, Canadian loving, suck-buddy regional scrutineer
Gene

What event was that picture from? Was it before or after tech? I find it very hard to believe that a dryer vent hose would be legal at even a regional event.

That was from WRC Finland. You can even see the Neste Rally Finland decals on the car.
