Impressions of the new car:

I loved this car the second I started tearing into it. I can smash it into something and replace front end components easily, instead of bending the entire front end and having to cut and weld the pig back together.

Stability at high speed is slightly better, not crazy better but a little bit better, much easier to stay in subaru grooves and keep traction than in the bunny.

Having a subframe rules, period, the end.

It is heavier which sucks, and you can tell, but it could be a lot worse. I need to weigh the car at a truck scale one of these days.

It took me until day two to really start pushing the car just because of all of the issues we were having teething...and even on day two we had another issue pop up (the motor mount broke), however, by the end of the day, I was much happier with the speeds we were carrying with the new car. We ran a very safe event as my goal was to finish, and I can see a push for an overall top finish in the near future with a few updates and changes.

My number one goal for this winter is to increase reliability, and I think we are going to work hard on that after a couple week break.

I poked my head around your car, and talked to your brother a bit on Saturday evening, and I liked what I saw! Very sano, and clean.

On the 15th, the Alfa club is having a lapping day at Bremerton, $100 for the day, and you can run until you are sick of it. Guys have gone through 2 tanks of fuel in a day. Good chance to get some heat in the car and sort stuff. I am going to try to make it, have not had the chance to push the car hard, just at a drift day.

BTW, can I still cruise up someday and BS? What works for you?

Hey Sean,

I want to burn a bunch of fuel also! Do I have to do the school before I can lap? I don't have a race license.

October 15th yes?

Alright, so my question is:

Tom, are you driving it like you love it, or are you driving it like you hate it?

Alfa club is very laid back. No license or membership required. They will have instructors there, and run 3 groups. Novice, intermediate, and expert

I can probably provide you detailed schematics of the Honda shocks if you're interested in offering a kit.

I think it has the Honda style where the front is A coil over shock, they have an upper and lower control arm, the Shock is in a conventional Strut location, and pinches into a wishbone shaped lower link that straddles the axle, and bolts to the lower arm. I could probably come up with a picture...

Rear:

(Note this shows the rear suspension that's unique to '88 civic/crx and some year Integra Type R's - the other style isn't too different, just a different LCA.)

Exactly. I wonder if shock body length will be limited?

Body length is locked in and worsde Sean body diameter.
If I were to make something I could cut the body away from that lower forked POS thing but one still has to attach it somehow.
Fuck those things are annoying.

Why not just cut down the shock body to plug in like you do on the ford stuff? This seams like it would be even easier that the ford since it will likely not see as much bending force as the Ford will and therefore does not need to be nearly as strong.
