I've done a couple motor replacements. Some had t-chain issues early on. However cheap the motor if you tried to put it in the Zcar from CL it would just fall out the bottom.... The 240SX would be great if you get a good rear suspension figured out. I see lots of those for sale cheap after the drifter wannabees figure out they can't figure it out.... |

Or it wouldn't make it far. > > The 240SX would be great if you get a good rear > suspension figured out. I see lots of those for > sale cheap after the drifter wannabees figure out > they can't figure it out.... I have figured out good rear suspension, Martin Walter up in Ontario has been winning his class and more importantly do good overall results with his SR20DET powerd, JVAB suspended 240. I belive he found a stronger upper rear arm. And I agree, one 240 or the other. There's still a 20 to one ratio of the Swedish 240s to the Japonaise 240 in the wrecking yard. And like the Xratty, the 240 is a better car than the 240 but none of us will reach the level where the difference is detectable. Why does everyone keep talking horsepower like that's what wins rallies? Get that giant cast-iron tractor engine out of the front and you'll end up with a lightweight rally car that looks silly/cool.
JVL is on the right track with the V6, but all his arguments are more true with an I4. SR20 is really the easiest answer. Slap cams in it and you'll have reliable, free-revving 160 hp all day, every day. If you aren't enough of a driver to win with that, a completely stock SR20DET is stone reliable (with an oil cooler) and will give you 225 all day long. Any more is just making rooster tails. -Dave |
