As a disinterested, but thoroughly amused observer, I'd have to say it had something to do with this: "How come everytime you open your mouth, stupid comes out." Which, by the way, almost made my spill my coffee. Cary on... -Dave |

(Rememeber I'm culturally one of those fuckin Latinos by birth and upbringing) My dear Mamasita used "stupido" quite freely, and when i lived in France it was also common. It ain't the pull out two .45s and start shooting like it is in modern Americano Engles. And yeah Timm called and he was pissed like hell at the whT? You need to watch everything on TV" comment on the death ray thread, he figured it was baiting I figured it was a fairly harmless wise crack. I did tell him why I think people think all of his posts are trolling or baiting, and said "Lookie why didn't you say your dad's business is vacuum bagging composite shit for Boeing and that you worked summers there since you were a 13 year old "yout" so you know a bit about the business having worked in all areas" BACKGROUND beforehand, not after. Buut he said something that I agreed with and told him, he said everybody is getting snarky and nasty and it sucks big weenies. I said many are flat worried about keeping their jobs and their houses for crap that OTHER people did on Wall Street and their worried if they'll ever be ablke to rally or rally again and it's making us all snarly. Odd cause it's a time we should be closing ranks and recognising who's on what side of the line in the class culture we live in and be thinking more cooperatively. That's the only way any motorsport succeeds or flat functions on a broad level. John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! This forum can be a pretty bitchy at times .. I wish it was not that way ..sigh..
My "point of view" is off anuff and my spelling to keep me from posting much ..I do come here and read most days .... And I do have vast time in the saddle in the racing world and around the world ...Not everyone seeks the spot light you know.. Wish you all would be more friendly at times .. Its hard to bring up a subject around here thats not the "party line" of Rally Anarchy with out having to dig a fox hole first ...And I'm not a 20 year old kid ether ... Its all good ... As JVL and Tim have said ..Its the times we live in are hard on us all ....And now kids back to are regular viewing Flame away ...LOL Have a good day David Hazardous Toys inc |

Dave,
Good point. I am much less willing to post (or even read) lately because of all the BS. The world needs people who are willing to ask questions. Even if the questions are wierd. Rally anarchy does have a certin party line wich is ironic. For the most part the party line is based on logical thinking. It does bother me sometimes that we can't look at other ideas without flaming. An example of this would be the post about Suzuki Swifts. I know what the replys are going to say. The thing is that the Swift is actually a good rally car. OK it doesn't have a long wheel base like a 240 but it's still a good car. It's ok to say that and talk about it. In fact it is critical that we talk about things to further our understanding. I don't live on the internet forums. I have a life. I like to go to rallys instead of bitching on Rally Anarchy. I come here to learn and keep up with what my FRIENDS are doing. Those of us who are logged in all day long need to shut thier fucking computers off, go out into their garages and work on their cars. That way they can show up at rallys and make FRIENDS. So........good point Dave! Thanks. Robert. "You are way too normal to be on Rally Anarchy." Eddie Fiorelli. |

I want to try a Kevlar guard because it can be made to fit very tight. My current aluminum tank guard is excellent but takes up room and makes exhaust routing less than ideal. There is an Irish shop making good looking kevlar tank guards for my 97 Civic-cost is not unreasonable: 220 euro http://www.rallyforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21499. Shipping would be long or expensive though.
I asked my local plastics supplier, who also makes dune buggy fiberglass bodies, and they said that they should be able to make me a Kevlar (wet) tank guard for similar money. I will give it a shot as this way I can incorporate mounting points for a plate that bridges the gap between the tank and the rear subframe(so the subframe is protected-I ripped it off my last car when I went boulder skidding). I will report back when this gets done. George Civic Rally Car |

I would rather just buy prepreg kevlar and lay it straight to the tank! |
