Would the angled strut also mean a larger fluid capacity? For some benefit I would assume.

Trivia: Bob Girvin(Proflex) and Horst Leitner(Amp Research) were the two mountain bike designers that made versions of that fork. This design was an evolution of motorcycle fork designs from the 1920s-1930s.
