I have run the Ford Heavy Duty brake fluid in both of my rally cars. Since learning the lesson about hygroscopic higher end fluids. Boiling points are 550/290 F. Right up there with the Motul stuff if it is fresh. And it costs around $2.50 a bottle and available at any Ford dealer. Which means I can have an entire seasons worth of brake fluid for less than 1 bottle of Motul.

Running a cheaper fluid that is fresh is much much better than running some Motul, Castrol, Super Blue, etc, that has been in the car a while or you have opened the bottle before the current race weekend.

I always found it interesting that the Ford fluid is rated only as DOT 3 even though the fresh boiling point is way high. DOT must be based on the wet boiling point- either that or the Ford fluid deteriorates very quickly.

The thing is that Ford changed the formula and it is hard to get the original Motorcraft stuff with the high dry boiling point. It is at least 75 degrees lower now... Double-check the bottles.

I also found it was hard to buy in quantity at the Ford dealers, they often only had a couple bottles. I haven't been able to get it for $2.50 a bottle either...

I've since switch to ATE SuperBlue, which only comes in Liter bottles, but is roughly the same price as the Ford stuff. You can get it from TireRack quite cheaply--around $13-14 a liter. 536 dry, 396 wet boiling points.

but your car is red, and as we all know red cars are faster, just look at the majority of cars pulled over on the freeway.... all red cars... thus you need superior brakes than the rest of us Frick as you are super fast... Super Velocity Time-machine???? what does that model stand for anyhow dude???

ohh, and are ya comming to the Winter Rally New York ?

I think you have me confused with someone else. My car is blue and slow.

And I will likely not be at the Winter Rally New York

It looks to be installed properly. They are marked IN and OUT on the body.

yes the $40 valve from jegs is junk, i did source a willwood unit for the same price. leak checked the system, tight and rock hard.
