the lowers look like they might need to stay there. it's mounting bracket is part of the frame rail. i didn't do tons of looking at the bracket to see if it could be moved.

but i guess i could just chop out a chunk of frame rail and box it in and put some new holes in there to make them longer.

what are you recommending for a length for the uppers and lowers?

my only fear is keeping this all square. i'm just in my garage with nothing fancy.

i got to do some cage updating anyways, what's a little more tube work. i would like to see some pictures of what you have in mind, before i go chopping everything out.

grafting, that sounds like such a difficult word. i like to say, drill 4 new holes and bolt on, but grafting may make it sound like i know what the hell i'm doing. smiling smiley

but yes i am putting all of the 2nd gen stuff, rack and peanut steering, nice 4 piston brakes, mmmmmmmm, all sorts of awesomely goodness.

Nope. The thread on the rear is M52 The piston inside is 46mm so the family is the B-46 family.

The fronts, both 40 and those Ford 41s are both "B-36" family or 36mm piston.

The 50mm inserts are really extremely rare, and those 48 units I had were ex works Subaru things.
Seems they make 'em (since i can pick up the phone and order them in Sweden) but seems they're over $550 each which is a little much when they're really just B-46 shocks with pin mounts welded on and chrome plated, and a different thread on the rod end..

Working on that for those who "need" bigger.

Hey were getting all over the place, this is where a note pad and a check list and then a phone call is good cause there's realtively easy and cheap answers for all these things but fawk me a lotta typing.
Wwe can tell you ways to keep things straight..

You have the Toiletta axle in hand yet?
Who's gonna mod the flanges? (IE want me to do it same time as we do the Volvo axles?
We can make the flange fit whatever rotor and give you same BOLT CIRCLE as the front...)

hey john i spaced on asking you couple things today,

how far apart sould the top and bottom mounts be, like looking from the side of the axle? or i guess a "nothing less then this" measurement would be fine too

also is it going to be the end of the world if the 2 bars are not directly over one an other. like looking strait down on the axle.
