This has finally gotten far enough along that I think it applies here. I've been working on this for the last few months with Dave and another LeMons racer. The kit we're planing should let you drop a Hayabusa engine into basically any small front engine rear wheel drive car that's suitable for rally...like say a Starlet or a Kadett. We're doing the Miata first for Dave and I'm going to do a BMW 1600 next because I want something pre-SMOG so I can drive it on the street.

for stuff like this
but i read the article, i was thinking that you would used the 6 speed and then use the tranny as reverse box but using the miata tranny is an interesting idea. but it looses that awesome paddle shifter idea. still cool regardless. Crashed Hayabusas are a virtually limitless commodity and are fantastically lighter and more refined than any car engine until you are spending $20-30K on a dedicated race engine. Think for a moment about how much the engine in your Toyota cost to build, how much power you think it's going to make, how much it weighs, and then it will make sense. I bought a crashed bike last month with 2326mi on it...we're parting the bike on eBay and the engine will end up costing less than $1200 when we're done. |

hmm I always thought, man it would be sweet to use the stock bike box and just use
the motor n/s and a drive line to a proper gear ratio so you don't ex-seed 145 or so. and have all the get up for a small car and for reverse have a starter mounted in line with the drive line and just crank your way in reverse. really sweet work though how it the tranny gearing going to fair with its new peeke motor and hi end power? Bike transmissions are simply not strong enough for car use. Even in 1400lb GSXR1300 powered Westfields the transmissions don't last more than a couple thousand miles without fragging. Not having a reverse gear is a colossal pain in anything other than a dedicated track car. On the gearing take another look at the first article Dave wrote and it will be explained.

Therapy on the couch......
Youse guys are clinically insane.... Maybe the have occupational therapy in the Institution. Maybe it's wheat rust or argot.. I mean youse guys cant't even say "Whoa dooodz must'a metabolized some old Owsley Orange Sunshine, man, from back in the war, dooooooodz" For youse guys with no culture who don't know the reference to Owsley: (and how appropriate it is for Tim and Gang) Stanley Owsley: When Stanley was twenty-one, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1956 and served for eighteen months before being discharged in 1958. Later, inspired by a 1958 performance of the Bolshoi Ballet, he began studying ballet in Los Angeles, supporting himself for a time as a professional dancer.[1] In 1963, he enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley where he became involved in the psychoactive drug scene. He dropped out after a semester, took a technical job at KGO-TV, and began producing LSD in a small lab located in the bathroom of a house near campus. His makeshift laboratory was raided by police on February 21, 1965. He beat the charges and successfully sued for the return of his equipment. The police were looking for methamphetamine, but found only LSD—which was not illegal at the time. Stanley moved to Los Angeles to pursue the production of LSD. He used his Berkeley lab proceeds to buy 500 grams of lysergic acid monohydrate, the basis for LSD. His first shipment arrived on March 30, 1965. He produced 300,000 capsules (270 micrograms each) of LSD by May 1965 and then returned to the Bay Area. In September 1965, Stanley became the primary LSD supplier to Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters; by this point Sandoz LSD was hard to come by and "Owsley Acid" had become the new standard. He was featured (most prominently his freak-out at the Muir Beach Acid Test in November 1965) in The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, a book detailing the history of Kesey and the Merry Pranksters by Tom Wolfe. Stanley attended the Watts Acid Test on February 12, 1966 with his new apprentice Tim Scully and provided the LSD. For youse who don't catch the reference to Acid: “Chemists who fall into acid get absorbed into their work.†~ Confucius on acid An acid is any chemical with a pH either higher or lower than 6, It's hard to remember sometimes, you know? Acid/base systems are different from redox reactions in that there is no change in oxidation state, but every kind of change in everything else. Basically, an acid will cause things to melt: metal, ice, cathedrals, and the sound of leaves rustiling angrily, like disgruntled lobbyists, on a lime-green autumn morning. Once you use Acid, you will find that the Snozberries do, in fact, taste like Snozberries. Also many people say that my asshole was on acid once and it was trippin like a mother fucker. Contents [hide] * 1 Sources of acid * 2 Obtaining and Using Acid * 3 Alternate Meaning * 4 Colors of Acids * 5 Some Popular Acids * 6 See also [edit] Sources of acid Tripping acid may cause you to eat babies. Acid is commonly found in old batteries, rain and hippies' brains. Research shows that this phenomenon is caused by tiny acid rain storms within batteries, especially AAA:s and D:s. Breaking a battery open would probably unleash the storm and cause an acid tornado, or the acid may just leak all over the carpet and make a mess. It can be safely extracted only by using advanced Scientology techniques, like trickle down dianetics, and Neoplatonian philosophy (The study of Philo in New Platonia). Acid can also be found in special lemons (lemons are shaped like rugby balls but are much smaller). If you suspect that you may be trying to extract the acid from an actual rugby ball or perhaps an egg remember this simple rule: If you want to find acid in, remember it has yellow skin. Acid from lemons can cause hallucinations that make you feel like your face and eyes have screwed up. This occurs especially when you drink a lot of the acid - except when it comes from a related fruit, the orange. Certain oranges, the variant known to biologists as Owsley Orange, like lemons, produce Fine Acid. The Owsley Orange variant need only be thought about, to produce profound effects. Larger doses have been taken but the results have not been properly studied since the subjects are so rarely to be found in the same universe after taking it. Oddly enough, those around you will also see your face screw up and your eyes close. Since this happens without regard to whether or not they are actually looking at you, this is known as a group hallucination. Acid can also be found in the feces of hippopottomuses of the hugu tribe of south africa. the hugu tribe mebers harvist the acid every day of the hugu calendar, making a great crop for the tribe members to sell to people who ran out of shrooms. [edit] Obtaining and Using Acid Don't look in the toilet! Acid is produced illegally in labs, which then sell it to drug users and Energizer bunnies. Drug users need acid for the battery of drug tests that they are forced to take, and the Energizer bunny actually just injects that shit right into his/her/its veins/circuitry (as Energizer bunnies are so fast, nobody has ever managed to catch one in order to dissect it and find out whether they have veins or circuits). When the Energizer bunny is all tripped out everyone can take turns raping him - this led to the Third World War. After the war the bunny was admitted to a half-way house in Canada; and this is why everyone says "eh" over yonder in Canada. Acid is also used to strip paint from your neighbor's car, and then to get his 19 year old daughter to strip naked and run through the streets screaming about flying alligators that have octopi for eyes. We can see how this can be useful. ![]() [edit] Alternate Meaning For those without comedic tastes, the so-called experts at Wikipedia have an article about Acid. Also a term used to describe the numerous --identification cards (or IDs) used by AC Slater from the hit reality show of the early 1900s entitled Saved By the Bell - AC IDs. There were only a handful of these episodes before Norwaynian assassins of Eastern Venus destroyed television as it was known in this time period. Luckily, God didn't do anything (he never does) and the evil prevailed once again. But in 1933, Albert Einstein resurrected this so-called TV; and, more importantly saved Saved By the Bell - just before the Bell sounded. It was a close call that will never be forgotten. Or will it? Depends. It will.
