Just curious, why a Ranger oil pan? An MX-5 pan is designed to oil properly at 1.2g. I don't know anything about the Ranger pan, but I doubt they considered the same g loading in its design.

The engine mounts are done, as is the trans crossmember.. which I may gusset before I smooth and paint it. Looking at parts to make an intake manifold for it. Once the parts for that are in, I'll swap a spare engine into my 244 from the doorless donor chassis and begin fitting the plenum and runners.. I have a feeling I'm gonna be really really good friends with the band saw and the belt sander before this is all over with.. Once I get the pieces fitted I'll have a "real welder dude" come in and TIG everything together. One advantage of using the head I'm using is; the fuel injectors are in the head, so I don't have to fit injector bungs, rail, worry about rail coming loose (yikes) I'm a pretty meticulous person, doing this will probably drive me half crazy and have me excited as a kid at xmas the other half of the time. Pics to come later, haven't done anything else cool enough that's worth taking pics of!

What's happening with the build? Have you had any time to play around with the 5r55?
