NISMO just got back to me and told me that they, too, don't have that detriot locker, it's just simply not in production whatsoever anywhere.

I feel like Lando Calrissian "This deal is getting worse all the time!"

That's what I mean. They are somewhat hard to find, but the mrk 1 Celica Supra had a narrow live axle, 7.5" diff. with a 4 lug bolt pattern, 4X4.5" with disk brakes.

Toyota might be the better way to go nowadays. There is a huge gap between old Toy truck support and all others 'ceptin Chevy and Ford. Try these guys, we get all our diff stuff from them. http://www.ringpinion.com/Default.aspx They carry a couple brands of lockers. http://www.ringpinion.com/SpartanLocker.aspx and Grizzly lockers.

Haven't tried one of these but I can't think they would carry something sketchy, real quality company.

Found a turbo thunderchicken 7.5" rear for $150
add a 200 dollar 4.56 r&p and a trackloc rebuild kit for 100

still looking at toyota stuff before i pull the trigger, but so far it's a lot cheaper than a fancy subaru lsd and custom CV axles. (at least til i start narrowing it)

Oh, and a decapitated back-half of a 510 wagon showed up at the shop this weekend. makes for interesting yard art. Need to get the other piece of 510 yard-art up beside it and do some a/b comparision and measuring.

Oh, hey, I just found some pics of another steering rack conversion. Seems to have plenty of rally ground clearance.

Are those standard 510 axles, CV inner, U-joint outers? That steering rack doesn't look exposed at all!! LOL

All of that ...misguided??...work and effort, look at the butcher job on the spare tire well removal.

So a customer of mine made a 240Z 4x4. Cut the body and put a chopped up Scout or Blazer frame and running gear under it. Big tires,V8, jacked up...all the neat stuff. He was in such a hurry to drive it that he didn't wait to finish it all. So at about 60mph it started swerving around (steering alignment/angles) and he hit the brakes to slow down. Seems he hadn't welded the spring pads on the front axle yet so it immediately rolled the axle in the u bolts. Car flipped onto the roof, roof collapsed to dash board in the front. I guess the weight of the 4x4 conversion was a bit much for the old Z car pillars. He lived and the NEXT one was better built with a cage.

What is up with wildly inappropriate things to do with old Scout chassis?! My cousin did the same thing, put a TR7 body on a Scout, 400Chevy, great big tires, it overheated at the drop of a gas pedal, gawd it was awful. But at least it's still in one piece.

I think there is something in the water down here. There used to be a '49 Ford 2 door on a Blazer chassis, a '65 Barracuda on something (drugs??) and so on. Things have slowed down since we got all the cable channels....
