OK. Dropped the rear beam/diff today. Those bushings holding the thing in place look sloppy. What is the recommended setup here? Mount solid, poly, or rubber?

Solid

Anybody reinforcing the rear beam?

Some are some aren't those that aren't (me) end up bending the beam.

Now's the time with it sitting right beside the TIG!

Get in touch with william, (TSS Fab) he has all the patterns in his plasma cnc for all the plates I made for rear beam strengthening. the plates double skin all the pockets, triangulate them to the beam, and he has the pieces to re make the shock pickup on the arm. It needs to be moved outboard, and be longer so the springs wont hit the body in the shock tower.

I also added eccentric slots and tabs to the outboard arm mount, and used some toyota eccentric bolts. I now have rear toe adjustment.

Solid mount the beam. Or if you want some poly beam mounts, I have a set I will sell you cheap.

Sean, if you were not a naughty boy, and visited, you'd know the square beams are fianlly sorta nearly kinda done and we're just needing to poke the outer mounting holes and a 1.75" whatever the hell wall tube in , zapp zapp and ppress the bush which SHOULD be here with UPS and then TEST FIT, so we gotta think who can test fit WHO!???
Who has a lift and air???
WHO!!???

Stoked to hear your making some progress!!!
I used powerflex poly bushings in mine. Lots of people like solid, but I like the idea of a little bit of compliance so I went with a poly bush. I used nylon bushings from MC2 on the STAs.
William makes a beam strengthening kit based on Sean's design. Speaking of which, I need to get in touch with him about a set of the weld on shock pick ups.

That would be me. So you are asking if you can use my car as a test mule? You got a diff with 4.1 or so ready to go in, then no problem.

Maybe you can suffer along with a 4.3?

Anyone have pix of rear beam reinforcement? Now is the time and not sure I want to wait for a kit (though TSS makes sweet stuff!).
Trying to finger out if I want to pull everything out and do the rotisserie, or just keep it together and have it rallyable in the spring. Sure is tempting to rip that nasty motor out!

I boxed in all the mount pockets, and ran a triangle from the box to the beam. Added eccentric slots in the outboard pickup and run eccentric bolts for toe adjustment.

I bet william could burn you out the plates quick, he has all my patterns. I also lengthened the shock mount on the arm, and moved it outboard for spring clearance in the tower

Mocked up the supra diff in the beam. Looks awesome. Halfshafts need new boots, and driveshaft needs mod. Scratched my head in the engine bay. It does run, but what a mess. Decided to pull it. Too many sketchy things going on in there i could never be comfortable bombing down a stage. Disconnected everything and ready for lift. Once that's out might as well strip everything else and put it on a rotisserie/stitch weld.
I think RWD is the way to go. Servicability is so important, and this car should be 100 times easier to service than my talon was.

Hey Jason, next time you're over, 1) wear sunglasses, and 2) steel yourself when you walk in the front door.
It's that clean and shiny now.

NEXT! the garage.

Sweet John.. I swear it's half the battle (clean workspace).
Two strollers donated (down to four). Scrap metal chopped up and off to recycle.
Might try to sneak down next weekend if the brakes are ready (and to talk and plan).
