So I guess you got your car going again then Al? When I saw where Dave was from I figured it was your car. That suspension also soaks up jumps a LOT better then I would have expected!

Hey Danny,

Yeah, its good enough for playing right now, but it really needs a trip to the skunkworks for a little clean up.
It does do a pretty good General Lee, huh?

It just needs a few more zip ties to hold the wires up and maybe a gauge. I'd recommend coolant temp, that's my favorite gauge. Other than that, it seems ready to race.

Oh, and maybe some reinforced control arms and a hydraulic last-minute oh-shit handle...

That suspension is amazing! It just soaks up all the crap that was forcing me to slow down in the 510.
I'm genuinely curious about what suspension you have in the 510 and what other rally suspension you have driven on.

That's a very astute question. My amazement means nothing if I've only driven Camrys...

The 510 is running Tokico Prodra G rally shocks. Out of production for decades, I got the last set out of Tokico's warehouse. They're twin-tube, and the fronts are inserts, so they overheat rather quickly. They're also getting old, so they're thoroughly broken in... Not enough that they're leaking yet, though. The car has stock suspension travel, which is actually abundant. 8" or so up front, even more in the back. The front shocks were pretty overhwelmed on this rough course, though.

Other cars I've driven:

B15 Sentra with DMS fronts (WRX inserts with custom mounting ears) and custom-made Progress rears.

Hyundai Tiburon Production-class car built by Vermont Sports Car (not sure what was in it)

Doug Shepard's Neon SRT-4, which I think had something very digressive made by KW on it.

Other cars I've ridden in:

Open-class Tiburon with John Buffum driving.

Group 5 Supra with Ralph Kosmedes driving.

Open-class Subaru with Ramana Lageman driving.

WRC Focus in tarmac trim with some crazy Swede driving (I can't believe I actually forgot who...)

WRC Subaru in gravel trim with Petter Solberg driving.

So I have enough perspective to know when something is good. Petter's suspension was better, but it probably cost a bit more...

Yea, to make the list, the car has to last more than 3 turns...

Hahaha

When I was at the last rally sprints, I was in Shadd's GTX and was going to get a ride with him, but as we rolled up to the start, the ball joint failed and popped out. I don't count that as a ride either, haha
