Is that VW 6 bolt top plate for a Burmeister strut top?

Also how about just a tube for the hole on the VW a-arm?

Rightie-o Chad---that's the idea!

I like to do 2 layers, upper and lower and joined by tube welded in and kissed sown.
It only occured to me later that I was making stiff that looked like motorcycle swing arms but we gotta do something to join the thing into one stiff thang..

Probably unnecessary. They're cheap and they are relatively strong. Weld pushing points on them and get a small hydraulic thingy to be able to straighten them a bit on transit if needed.

if you are interested in a set I have steel arms off a wrx
I can make them for you.
they do bend up a lot people switch to aluminum arms
and I have seen plenty of those bending.

if you fix up a pair for half the cost of sti ones
and they last long enough I think its worth it.

William - wondering if you have any unfinished Merkur/Supra diff mounts?

I'm going to be mounting a supra diff in my BMW and I'm after that flat piece contains the rubber bushings. If you are able to profile the bottom edge as normal, but leave the top edge of the steel uncut so its maybe 6-10" tall overall, instead of just 3" or so. That way, once I get the diff in the car I can trim the top down as needed so that it will reach the floor, and then I'll have Grant help me box in all the corners.

Thanks,

Dave
