I'm not doing anything until Oct.
Good plan. You have plenty to worry about. Take a step back from the car.

That being said, I am not sure this thread will be left alone in your absence.

Follow Ryan McLaughlin there this year. He's done a few events and decided to do Pike's Peak this year so turbocharged and spent a ton of money on his Integra. It is quite likely that he will be plagued with problems. People often are and the more power, the bigger the problems.

Grant, are you psychic? What a week, and you were correct. Car ran perfectly here in Denver, did awesome at Temple Canyon. Dynoed at 289whp/219tq. First practice day on the Peak, all the ignition stuff fried, second day, the MAP sensor started freaking out, third day, put a hole in the tranny. Got it all patched up by Sunday, managed to finish (slowly), might have blown the head gasket halfway up, haven't felt like checking because I'm still a zombie from the week. Pikes Peak will expose every possible weakness of your car. It is the ultimate dyno for car and driver. I'll be back next year.

I've just been there a few years. Don't even ask me about crewing for Moody in 2004 with the Audi after it was first built! Of course, staying up all night on Thursday so we could Navy Seal it around the toll booth and hike 3 miles in so we could watch the rally cars race the toll booth to start line at 3 am didn't help that week either.
Great job though! To finish especially with all the unforeseen problems is a feat of accomplishment!!! I was super stoked for you guys on Friday! You had problems but you were stepping up and finding solutions. Exactly what rallying is all about.
Speaking of which, what'd you guys do about the tranny hole?

Permatex Metal Epoxy and a small cut of aluminum courtesy of Paul Dallenbach's team patched the tranny hole. Held up the entire race run, was probably the best fix of the week for us. Good seeing you Friday. By that point I had fixed so many problems, had so little sleep and so much into the race, I wasn't going let a hole in the tranny end the event for us. I was so happy to get across that finish line, when I heard the last note, L5 into Finish, I yelled so loud my co-driver might have gone deaf.
