I love these things, they let me go faster than I should have on wreck creek, I just want to drive around without crazy outside tire wear.

Well Alex ought to love these then, they're on the way, be there Wednesday!

Ok so the parts finally came in, after racereadyproducts.com fucked up my order and having to waste another weekend...

KISS is the motto for these things, mostly because I have a sawzall and a less than stellar drill press.

Plate material is leftover from the cage mounting feet, whatever thickness that is. I doubled up on it so hopefully the plates wont bend. And the bearing cup is welded to the bottom, so it wont come up and through anytime soon.

Bottom:

And attached to the strut with the mounting studs from the stock top hats pressed in:

I usually get mine from UB Machine.

http://ubmachine.com/monoballhousings.html

Those asses charged me $18 for an ENVELOPE with 2 tiny aluminum spacers(they should have been steel like I ordered!!!) I weighed it, it would have gone with 3 stamps on it. MAD.

So with the strut top pushed in like it is now, and my 10mm lengthened lateral links, I now have... 1.1 degrees of negative camber! ( + or - 7 degrees, I measured using my iPhone)

I put about 25 miles of gravel back roads on them this afternoon, seemed to work ok, they are clunky because the bearing cups are 0.018 taller than the bearings. I hope I can find another spacer to fill that gap.

The only real problem areas I have encountered are in this thread and weak transmissions. But if you aren't going turbo power it's likely fine.

Legacies have liquid filled front a-arm bushings, which I destroyed on my first rally.
The rear wheel wells aren't that big. But if you are using 195s you're fine.
Parts are cheap and plentiful.

No contingency money from Subaru. But that only applies to regional rallies that happen alongside nationals.

I find mine easy to work on.

so my 225/45-17s are going to be tight in the rear?

i had a fwd 93 legacy way back , it always felt solid

i'll post some pix in couple days of the new project, do you have any more pix of your legacy?

Yeah you might end up needing to trim the inner fender lip.

I have a thread of pics over at legacy central in the motorsports sub forum. I'm biggreen96 all over the Internet.

I would be a little concerned about the poor fit of the uniball in the cup. I usually have to re-machine the cups after they have shrunk from being welded and even then they are a press fit and they have to bottom out completely to get the snapring to seat. If they are loose enough to clack up and down you are running the risk of hammering the snap ring out of the cup and everything else with it.
Wierd that Race Ready messed up too... I order from them quite a bit and I have always been surprised how fast it ships and they have never sent me the wrong thing.
