I have been blabing about IRS and new hubs from v6 cars I would have to look in to some more ideas.

for brakes skys the limit find a thin comon rotor and make a bracket I would do a one
off brake kit for a few hundred bucks. Its nice when the car or parts are in front of me.

I suspect you win a lot of wasted time and money. The rear suspension is NOT a handling problem and the strengthening bit is easy to accomplish if you are willing to do a fuel cell (which you would have to do to put most any independent rear in anyways) or live with some low-hanging hardware out back..

Back to the brakes....
