New non-sunroof roofs are $50 from VW, so it made sense to just cut off the sunroof roof and replace rather than fill the hole. Please Login or Register to post a reply

Here's the two options, laid out in intermediate strength masking tape. The sill bar is staying. So single cross bar, or an X? The X will make connections to the A-pillar support much easier to do and gusset. But it does make it a bit harder to get in and out of the car. Please Login or Register to post a reply

Rember, they are there to keep stuff from making it into the car when you hit something. Take it from a guy who has hit a tree hard, make the door bars as strong as you can.
