Well, the individual vacuum systems only add volume to the intake, as the component using the supplied vacuum is/should be a sealed system, and therefore does not flow any extra air like you are thinking. The booster being the only one of concern, as it may spike the cylinder it is hooked to lean for the time it takes to move the pedal.
Get rid of the brake booster. I have driven a few without the booster, and once you are used to the extra effort, it is so much better. You can up the pad compound to offset the loss in power. |

OMG... the Justy sucked a spare virgo wheel off the floor and ate it for breakfast.
The sound... the sound, I just can't get over the sound of three carbs gulping for more CFM of air then the Justy has ever consumed. It sounds AWESOME. I'll try to get a vid clip up... (k I sound like a tuner kid now...) Anyway, last (well latest) question. The stock pump is an electro magnetic type, supposedly about 3-4 psi. The stock carb had a return. I quess I should plumb in the return rather then stopping the fuel flow right? I mean I could steal the SU out of the MG (which shuts down once the bowls are full...) but I need to drive that car home from Pines... Oh the sound... the sound... Need to check jetting tonight. Don't have a wideband, just going to pull plugs after a run... sound good nough? I figure a bit richer is better right. Don't want to kill a piston. Oh and John, the tupperware air box I was going to use, just doesn't quite fit. Think I'm going to have to fab something. You would have LOVED it... Matt Edited 1 time(s). Sounds good Matt, sounds good, thumbs up. Yeah start rich and jet down. Use the return, helps on cooking the fuel, and vapor lock... Get out there and try it, And I lurv household item as raw material.... John Vanlandingham Sleezattle, WA, USA Vive le Prole-le-ralliat www.rallyrace.net/jvab CALL +1 206 431-9696 Remember! John, it looked SOOOO good, the rectangular filter sat nice in the lid, all I needed to do was cut three holes in the side and an opening in the lid for the filter, then a hole in the hood, and a nice paint-roller hood scoop. Would-a-screamed BLING, but alas, not enough space between the firewall and the carbs... Air box and cone filter it is.

Sean,
The stock pump puts out about 3-4 psi, the carbs are recommended to run between 3-5. I have the stock return "t" plumbed in. Do you think I still need to pick up a regulator? (not a lot of time now... Rally is Saturday!) The floats seem to be holding the pressure, I switched the fuel pump on and let it run for a while with the engine not running, no leaks... Matt |

A plastic plug with a hole drilled then crammed in the return line might just make a handy fuel pressure bumper-upper. Brass would be even better-er. Wanna barrow a bunch of Weber jets? so finally making things happen.
However... We have yet to have a real run... and in the garage... I know I know.. I dropped the needle as far as it would go, but it still runs out of steam above 4 grand, sounds like the main jet is too rich. Idles great, runs awesome up to 3.5-4 grand then starts to choke on fuel, can't get past 3/4 open throttles. Under load it's a bit better, but not really. Main jet too rich? Will pick up some jets tomorrow, easy to change. If nothing else... it sounds good. Me |

First Make sure time is in mid 30s 'full in" which better be around 2500 rpm. Crank that timing. Also you don't have accelerator pumps. Gonna have to think. Tell me more about the carbies. quick! Yeah, moved the advance way up... much better. I was scared to go that high...
Still some tuning, but man, it pulls like a train when it works. Carbs are Mikuni TM 33's they appear to have a pumper! current jets say #6 (that's on the tag) Headed now to Bancroft, going to stop on the way and pick up some finer jets too, but I think we'll be okay with the advance. (what was I thinking 12 degrees..) Matt |

Is your timing light a "dial back" type? Cause the marks usually don't go much past 10-12 BTDC. I'd rev the piss outter her and see when max advance is, dial back to zero to see what it is and make a note. Then fiddle around here and there after running under load. If you get bad ping, back off 1-2 degrees, don't just twist the dizzy around willy nilly.
