About $20 in material. And about 8hrs is what it would take me, from drive in to drive out.

12gauge piece of sheet metal, 9"x30": $30
3 3/4" bi-metal hole saw: $20
Welding consumables: sunk cost
Time spent prepping and welding on the rally car: 5-6hrs

Posting photo's on teh interwebz and being all, "Look ma, I did this myself": Priceless.

So what you're saying is, you paid someone $200 to do it for you?

Curious about the costs in both time and money to add this to your car.

the only 'good' thing about this.....low cost.

That's it.

You bay area guys pay way too much money for metals. I will introduce you to Blue Collar Supply in Sacramento sometime. It's a fabricators disneyland and open on saturdays.
