I had a set of these in my hand and the poly seems to be very stiff and high grade... the I.d. of the bushing is 3/4" it also comes with the outer sleeve

I think I have found a MB front suspension bushing that will be good, it is on a radius arm so it gets lots of loading. $18 each. Just need to kiss the inside of a chunk of tube to make a holder

Well it doesn't seem obsolete since it's available both from mainline Ford and from aftermarket for just a few bucks. And it's not like its a wear item, seems that last nearly forever as motor mounts, and that's what I like: proven to work in the worst possible conditions, and cheap...can't get better than that..

I have used some Camaro leaf spring bushings before but they cost like I dunno a bunch more than these and required unique housing...

I believe Wimpey is using VW front LCA bushings in their engine mounts. 1" diameter, 1.5" long (approx). Solid rubber, hole is for an M12 bolt. OEM on all MK2/MK3/MK4 VW Golf/Jettas.

Dudinsky, don't "Whatever" me for thinking outside the box man. I thought we were on the same page here with making things stronger, betterer, and easier to service...... I like to be able to buy replacement parts easily if i can, not ordering through my brother from England. Yes, the bushings you speak of work, are proven and stuff, but there HAS to be something comperable and easier to get.

Remember, I can be talked into making 2 sets.....

If I buy 8 of them off rockauto they work out to be around $10 each, FedEx ships fast too!

Just saw the one he has in mind, it's BIG on the OD which makes me worry about how big the housing will be---if it will interfere with anything or be too close to exhaust..
Just got some of the ones I like, so neener neener!

I would be down, even if I don't use them, I will pay you for them. I have a few different Ford leaf spring bushings coming today also.
