Marine stuff huh? Makes sense, And where I live that crap is everywhere.
I meant to ask about where your switches were, Thats pretty cool too, although I think Id rather have em up on the console.
The yellow lines are painted hard lines? Okay, pretty cool.

Kris, Thanks for the info, its really helpful.

Heres a shot of the interior in the SAAB 99. We made the dash itself from fiberglass (using a mold made of MDF) and painted flat black. The foward section below the windshield is glued down craft felt.
The panel insets are aluminum and held in with D ring style 1/4 fasteners for tool-less access to connectors behind... also all relays and fuses are accessible to the co-driver strapped in.

Wow, That looks avbout as professional as it gets. I like how you positioned the relay and fuses. The D ring idea is perfect as well, I was thinking about getting some dzus fastners for use with a flathead, but thats even better.

Nice looking indeed.
But surface mounted and angled like it is I betcha a whole nickle that reflection on the inside of the windscreen is pretty bad.
I got some later mounting rings for my stuff after suffering a number of years with reflections, the later rings let the instruments set in a smidge---presto no reflections.

Bringing this on back!
So I don't have a defroster/heater/vents/anything, and noticed a problem with that the other day.
Ideas?
Roof vents?
Summit universal heater?
RV 12v electrical heater hidden under dash?
I like the stock box w/ computer fans and the heater core, but I'm looking for something fairly quick to throw in there.

What about fleabay.com
Will probably fall off the fire wall and catch everything on fire, but it's cheap!

What is it that you like about that one Sean? Is it the same one that william had linked to in his thread? (that item sold and it now links me to a $1200 system)

This is a purchase that will soon need to happen

I don't like it exactly, just seems simple, and cheap.

For Deriks M3 we are using a 4" bilge fan to blow through a water to air intercooler, except have hot water plumbed in instead of cold. Seems to be about the same cost to do that, then you end up with something alluminum, strong, and small for packaging.

something like this from votionspeed http://www.votionspeed.com/servlet/the-527/Water-to-Air-Intercooler%2C/Detail

I think William's thread had linked to this one, which has a heater core that you run coolant through.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-991102-1/

The one Sean linked to is self contained with an electric heating element I believe. And is $75 more expensive. Simple if it just needs power.

simple is beautiful.... just moved the heaterpanel down and added 2 switches to extralights and one for fan. Good point in stock wiring is that when failure strikes, its always easy to find scheme for it... as well replacing even part of it is easier...
