skill saw. Table saw works great too. Easiest thing is a wall saw, like the one in the back of home depot's.

There you go!!!

find out the store number for the local Home Despot (probably listed online), and that is usually the code for all the saws! PERFECT!!!!!

That or a Phased Plasma rifle in the 40 watt range.

I knew exactly what you were talking about AJ.
I built a shelving insert for our closet last week. I had the guy at HD cut everything into at least one dimension for me so I just had to make one cut per board instead of two and so it would fit into the back of the Legacy.

Plasma is out. A) Don't have one. cool smiley Scott says the compressor couldn't power one. C) I've never seen a nice edge on a hand cut plasma item and don't want to clean up 240 inches of shit.

Sounds like Skil Saw will be the way to go. Turns out, I have one of those too. It's from the 80s so it's totally badass and somewhat unsafe too. Or at least has less protective shit on it. I remember the first skil saw I got in high school. First thing I did was remove the safety guard. Though I put it back on after sending the saw on a toe endangering scoot while building a mini ramp.

Sounds like it may be time to update our picks on which Colorado rally driver is going to the emergency room next.

I don't know if you want to limit yourself to colorado. I should post some pics of the 1950's table saw I recently acquired. Pick an adverb, add "rigged" and you're not even close to describing it.

Gawd don't remind me.
Remember the feed for the lathe? Three wires stripped and poked directly into the wall socket, oh yeah...

Hey I just got a port and polish and general rebuild on my nose. I'm delerious.
And on drugs.

C'mon, you've seen the commercials! Use a 'twin saw' with counter-rotating blades. It'll cut anything.smiling smiley

I'd cut it with my plasma cutter, but only because I already have one. Then clean up the edge with a straightedge and a carbide cutter on a wood router.

Yeah that's what I would do too.

I used the blade like Nick posted. Cut it in no time at all with super clean and smooth edges. No need to even touch with a grinder to clean up.

If you already have a good wood blade on your saw rock that... standard practice in all the shops I've worked at.

Why use a butter knife on steak? Why use a steak knife on plastic? Why use a nylon cutting hot knife on bread?

The reason that people bother to make specialized cutting devices is that they work so much better than "well, what do I have laying around my shop?".

Yeah, I've cut aluminum with a plain old wood blade. It worked. I've used an aluminum blade too and you know what? WAY BETTER! smiling smiley

I'm sure Grant was all "Dang, this is easy!" since he had the right blade. smiling bouncing smiley

I've seen 6" diameter aluminum cut on a chop saw with a wood blade.
The aluminum blade was easily available and cut with such a nice edge it could be used as is. Though I think I'm gonna chamfer all the table edges eventually to prevent any flaying.
