I got 2 FIA rated seats for 589$$$ SHIPPED!

google Momo T-club then click on more and click on shopping . I think its gonna cost about $311 per seat now shipped.

Also i believe safedrives sells ... uhm... what is ... (brain fart) oh ya OMPs for around $300 a seat .

While its true that most of the time a safer/better seat is going to cost more

its not true that just because you find a seat that costs more that is safer.

Look up which FIA certification standard the seat meets , a seat meeting a newer FIA standard will be safer (or at least as safe) as one of the older standards, and of course it will likely cost more. but many times seats differ by thousands of dollars have the same FIA standard. meaning they were tested in the exact same way, and both (on a pass/fail basis) performed identically.

If you really care to, you may be able to find seats independently tested beyond their FIA requirements , such as a seat that passed FIA, is retested with an extra 5Gs of impact and still passes. Now there's a seat worth the extra money !!! grinning smiley

what is wrong with using an outside groupe for safety equipment testing ?
Considering the funding for SFI comes largely from the manufacturers, it is arguably less 'outside' than the FIA is.
From looking at the issue a few years ago I can tell you that FIA homologation doesn't artificially inflate the cost of similar quality items.

I'm not suggesting that SFI is bad... just that they aren't what I would call 'independant.'

I sat on a $300 Momo or Sparco. notice the lack of "sat IN"? thats because i felt like i was stapped to a board within a rally car. I am a bigger fan of a more recessed seating position. My OMP's are nice and tight however they lack some good ol' ass padding. someday when i buy new seats i will look more for comfort then price. Two days in an uncomfortable seat is no fun in my book.

I really love my Momo T-Clubs. i drove my car 600 miles to rally idaho last year, ran the 150 stage mile event (with 200 ish of transit) and then drove 600 miles home. my back was fine, comfy .

Seats comfort though is very very very individual . what my back likes, yours might hate. and a few degrees of layback can make a huge difference. ( i sit very very upright)
