Have to admit, the fact that most people do under-prepare their cars is one of those reasons I'm scraping together the cash for this instead of running a roadrace car. It's looking like probably something around a quarter the cash outlay compared to the classes I'm familiar with, even if the rally cars could be built a lot farther within the rules.

I'm in the same line of thinking. My 'tame' version of a 2wd European rally car would get it's butt handed to it in any Swedish/Finnish event. They often spend $10k-$15k for a clubman level N/A engine over there.

But my car should be pretty serious in the US. Figuring on 240-250 hp, 210-220 ft lbs, 5.29 final drive, 7500 rpm shift points, C/R gearset. I will have to add ballast to make minimum weight!
