I like how the gunner in the rear explodes too just for the heck of it.

C'mon Sean, don't give up, I think your big wing with the radiators in it is going to be super cool. Anyways, no one will notice because of all the uproar over my new airbrakes and f-duct.

I heat my garage with a 70 year old kerosene drip box heater. I run it on diesel, and it takes nothing to light it, and it burns quite nicely for a long time. Yes, gasoline will go up quick, but you cannot tell me diesel will not burn in a firey crash.

Anyway, that was not even my concern, the question is still coolant and it's lines.

So, can I build a rear mounted radiator, if i want, and would it be legal? It will be in a big wing, as Al so graciously alluded to....

Yeah. Viorel Dobasu had his Evo X at NEFR last year with a rear mounted radiator setup. I think its a dual purpose rally/euro rally cross car, or something. Note the vents in the rear windows and on the trunk.

Putting it in a wing may be more difficult. Unless RA has changed the wording on rear wings it has to be "visually similar" to OEM or a wing homologated by the manufacturer.

Here is what happened the last time someone tried to rally with non-homologated aerodynamics:

I thought the wording was 'visually similar OR extends no more than 6" from the bodywork'

I find it amazing that you can house 2 "homemade tanks" with all the pumps, solenoids, heaters, etc, and those of us running any other fuel cannot add something simple like a fuel surge tank!

And yet you're not allowed to have windshield washer fluid in the cabin...

Actually... you can. Had a discussion on this over at special stage and had some email traffic with Hurst and he confirmed, you CAN put windshield washer fluid inside the cabin.

I originally planned on relocating the OEM washer bottle, but it had a pop top. I filled it with water in the sink, and tipped it upside down and gave it a jerk. When it went GLUG GLUG GLUG GLUG pouring all that fluid, I decided I was going to replace my reservoir/pump with an STi intercooler spray bottle/pump.

I'd be more concerned about their catch-all clause:

"Srutineers may require that an aerodynamic device be removed or modified...in the interest of safety. The Technical Director may also require it to be removed or modified for aesthetic reasons."

It'd suck to get to scrutineering and have them tell you that your radiator is ugly, and has to be removed.

Well they must have changed the rule, then. Good.
