Pretty much it involved very carefully peeling off the ears off of the 2nd gen stuff and after removing the ears off the sti stuff put the 2nd gen ears on the sti struts. Clearly that's way more simplified then it really was.
Also I'm running Subaru top hats, so at least one thing John can't hate on. 
And then just run a coil over spring because the stock sti springs won't fit anymore because you have to chop off half the spring cup to clear the wheel.
