Man!!
That's exactly what I was thinking of. I can't imagine they are that difficult to build. I've been designing it in my head, but if they're already done... How much thread goes into the contol arm and how much adjustability do you have? I'd like 6 of those as soon as possible! Are they in the mail yet ![]() Seriously, do you have a contact at 034 I could speak to? |

The re-design by 034 Motorsports is even better, for sure.
On mine there is approx 2" of thread for each rod-end. I'd have to actually measure one to be sure, but I'm not living at home this week (up in Whistler for Crankworx). Set-up on my car, with the OE ball joint at about halfway through it's adjustability, and the rod ends about 2 threads from bottoming out, I can EASILY get 3deg negative camber out of the arms. Raised up I have no doubt I can get enough negative camber out of them. 034 has been slow to release these, it's not on the top of their development list (take a look at the rest of their product line and you'll see they are quite busy!). Send an email to nate@034motorsport.com and tell him that Dave Hord told you about the arms. Ask him to add you to a contact list of when these will be available. He may have an ETA, but he's more likely to say "we'll let you know when these are released". -Dave --- I'm not scared of commitment...I'm scared of you. |

John. I am interested in a set of these for my 90q. Could you shoot me an e-mail so we can discuss how much they'll cost and whatnot?

Cool deal!
I got the design from Dave Hord, spoke to the guys at 034 (as Dave's was the prototype) - they said to go ahead and have them built if I'd like - but some super bitchin' lower a-arms are in the works. When I get the whole deal put together I'll post pics ! I think that's when the SB suspenders will shine as they should... |

this weekend playing in the shit and jumping at the worker sprints, was the most extreme usage the plain 'old bitchin suspenders have ever gotten.
35 full cycles "bump stop to top" or so per 1:30run, time 5 runs with 3min cool down, then the afternoon, with another 5 runs, then 9 fun runs, back to back. The stuff held up fine, but got hot enough to burn my fingers. now i see why they put heat sinks on desert racers. makes me want to get the reservoir shocks for the rear. at the sprints, an eclipse's rear shocks lost valving, front OLD DMS's got their final nail, and the replacement rear KYB g2 shocks? less than one run. Hey Dave (et al):
I had a thought on the design you've got there for the lower control arms. With the hime joints going directly to the sub-frame - I'm a bit worried that there's absolutely no pliability there. Good for response time, but not so sure I won't be bending arms like crazy? Spoke to the guys at quattromotion - they agreed and also mentioned that Audi Sport also retained the bushings but used some type of track arm mechanism. Also on their (if you guys remember it) Audi Fox'enstein, they built the control arms by mounting a plate on the stock arms and the ball joint directly to that plate (using '91 coupe ball joints). Waiting on the pictures. any thoughts? |

------------------------------------------------------- > Hey Dave (et al): Vittorio, you get those top mounts from Sweden yet?? I haven't heard back from the guy, or you. As for using rod ends inboard the only thing I'd worry about is if, or when they develop sloppiness. If they're fine then no problem, if there's slack then there's a big spike in the shock load as the slop is taken up. There are these nice 3/4" ends which are like rod ends except they are polyurethane. http://www.deucefactory.com/ProductImages/parts/3293.GIF How do you change a GIF to JPG? That would be a good solution I think. > > I had a thought on the design you've got there for > the lower control arms. My control arms, and somewhat surprisingly the subframe, are all still straight. -Dave --- I'm not scared of commitment...I'm scared of you. |
