I am doing this because I was told that my car was not up to spec and that I didn't have enough to do on my car to make a build thread.
The car is for sale but I don't plan on selling it anytime soon so Hyperfest and rally West Virginia are the targets for the rest of this year. List: Jvab fronts ✅ Jvab rears New tie rods ✅ New bushings Engine rebuild New trans Seem welding New paint for the ladies Reinforcement of the drivers side floor for tech purposes More Rewiring New lights New underbody protection (probably a new skid plate if someone can help me come up with a new idea for it and I need to find a replacement for pvc sheets under the car) Tuning ![]() Foard Cleveland Blue Branch Rally Team http://www.performancefriction.com |

Performance friction does all of my brake stuff for free so I don't bother with them but really I'm trying to make it faster and stickier. It's a group 2 car or o2l but very far from pulling it's own weight. Currently were putting the new trans in which has a shimmed quaiffe and a 4.02 final drive.

I see you're from Clover but I find that hard to believe. PFC didn't even have anything for Focus. Is that final drive the shortest you can find? You should try to find something even shorter than that (higher numerically) |

Well they provide pads and surprisingly have a shoe that will fit my rear drums, I'm afraid to go up to bigger discs because of wheel size... when it comes to the final drive it just came with the transmission, it was the only one I was able to find. (one of my best friends mother works there so aside from meeting with cockerham she helps me to get things and they give me stickers and banners to display at the races) Foard Cleveland Blue Branch Rally Team http://www.performancefriction.com Edited 1 time(s). If it is the trans you got from me it has a 4.5:1 final drive in it not the 4.02:1.
Next time you are down this way I can show you the skid plate setup I have. Probably made out of too think of a gauge of aluminium but it works well. Zetec motors are a little harder to create a skid plate as you have to make them quite low to clear the exhaust as it goes around the front of the motor. |

I just looked over old Facebook messages it's a 4.5, my bad. I'll come down once the car is back together, what would you recommend over the pvc you gave me? Seeing as half of it is already gone lol The drivers side seat reinforcement is just something to do with the floors but they put it in my log book at sandblast that it needed to be fixed so that the floor wouldn't move with the the seat mount. I don't know how bad it really is but I think we will be welding a 1x2 rectangular tube under the car to keep it from bending when they shake the seat. Here are some pics of the old stubborn trans starting to get out, having trouble getting it off of the actual engine.

The trans did get out friday but the new one is yet to go in, we're working on getting the old fly wheel off and the fidanza on… apparently there's going to be a crank sensor issue so we'll have to find out when we get there. Does anyone know what "double tap your crank sensor" means? The guy I bought it from said that was his issue.

For the under body plastic I would just goto a plastic distributor, I am sure you can find one near charlotte and buy a 4x8 sheet of HDPE. I made templates out of cardboard and then cut it out with a utility knife and a set of tin snips. You are welcome to copy my rear templates if you want.
I had a lot of problems getting it secured in the back properly. It kept coming loose and would drag on the ground. I finally added a set of weld nuts to bottom of the rear sway bar mounts and that has helped keep them from dragging in the back. Make sure you make the leading edge quite secure as well. You don't want them catching and folding under. I switched to an aluminum skid plate for the fuel lines and the fuel tank before Rally Mexico and I have been very happy with that setup. But it was not as cheap as the plastic stuff that I ran before. |

Andrew, out of all of these on this page, which would you pick?
http://www.piedmontplastics.com/products/polycarbonate.aspx Here's how things are going, we have the trans out and the old flywheel off, we tried to install the new fly wheel but found that the crank sensor touches the new wheel. We're going to fix the problem tomorrow, it turns out that you have to put a shim on the bolt for the crank sensor to move it back slightly. The new flywheel is MUCH lighter than the stock flywheel and much prettier so I'm very excited. Surprisingly the clutch is great in the car doesn't look like it will need replacement for awhile.
