John VA, I <know> you have sent me this at least 3 times, and probably told me another 5, but which Facet pump should I be looking for to move stanky Saab gear oil around? Was it red top or blue top?

Thanks.

OU812 out.

Well excellent...I knew there was an intelligent answere in there Mr Sillyman. Ok, so, after alllll that, I have found another pump, pn# 478360 which seems to be a commercial version with 1/8in NPT and something in the 4-5psi range...a little lower than the red and blue pumps.

Would it work? Am I overthinking this?

aS USUAL, YES.
gET THE FUCKING fACET PUMP WITH THE BIGGER fittings, which is the Red Top, if I recall correctly.

What cooler are you overthinking about?
There's the small 900T ones the square-ish ones, that would be a good compact choice.

1/8 NPT fittings seem waaay too small to move even low volume amounts of even lighter gear oil, specially when cold.

bigger fittings, check.

Yes, I had previously overthought the cooler and landed on a few of the square 900 coolers for the tranny and pwr steering coolers.

What are the fittings on those coolers by the way?

14x1.5 on the fittings I think. Some people have used bosch fuel injection pumps with success too, altough that seems way overkill. You can also get an expensive tilton pump made for the purpose.

Weldon makes an even more expensive pump for this purpose. I didn't find the cheaper solutions before buying the Weldon pump. Then had the app. engineer tell me not to use it in cold weather!

I've been using it since Oregon, plumbed -6 with the Mobil 1 75-140 slime in the box and it seems to be working well.

But it's too danged expensive.

Link to the Facets yer talkin' 'bout?

Pic of this Slaab cooler?

tanks.
