Would there be any sense or value in doing a 4 link suspension for the rear?

I've looked at the benefits against the cost and fab work, If I were to be doing a lot of high speed desert style races or raid events then yes it would be of use, however I would have to modify the cage to comply with FIA regs and where it meets the rear most suspension mounting points. As the majority of the stuff I will be doing aren't, then there isn't a compelling reason to do so. Also if anything were to break on event, its a quick call to Lordco, Napa, or any other local autostore and hey presto, for cheap parts and minimal time I can continue. Remember the whole reason I built this was for fun and cheap(ish) motorsport. I've seen very simple plans being over engineered to the point of being impractical and costly.

Grant, no I haven't had time to weigh the beast yet but I'm guessing 3400 give or take.

Grant, I just weighed the beast, with a 2/3 tank of fuel, a 200lb driver it comes in at an alarming 1800kgs 3970 ish, I'm thinking I may have to trim the weight by a fair bit. However I just looked at the original weigh-in and if I'm taken out of the truck it weighs exactly the same as when I started. So adding 140' of DOM, 6 gawdam heavy wheels and tires and all the safety stuff was not the diet I was thinking of, more like Ricky Lake than Jenny Craig! I just replaced all the suspension with Bilstien 5100 and Deaver rear springs as the I found out after Radium that not only was one leaf pack broken but I had no shock on the drivers front and all the others were definitely past their prime. Took it out for a little run up a gravel road, so much easier to coax the rear end to steer now and wayyyy more predictive. Now to find an event to go play with it!

Not so much, this is the lul in the western Canadian season. And what with our loonie tanking againgst your buck it makes it a tad expensive to come and play south of the border at the moment. But there is a test day up here on the 23rd Aug I'm going to be running the Ranger at, a nice 5km stage will be good for trying new things and improve the driver skills.
