OK 10 days after it was asked we have an answer...

Randy--knowing the piston sizes front and rear of what you have and since we've all have many times set up cars with just Master and those sizes and we know that that works very good on gravel in terms of F/R balance..plumb around it. One line from master to handbrake to T to rear calipers; same on front: one line to T to front calipers.
minimal mods, and simplifying..

Now the rears will lock sooner than otherwise and it reduces the need for yanking on the handbrake..

If you are still running a stock diagonal split hydraulic system you may want to convert to a front /rear setup with pedal box for brake balance

Well ! Looks like I will be putting that off for now.

With the Subaru system their are two rear brake lines after the valve. Re-pluming will need to be done . So I will table this idea for now.

For the GC Impreza I modified the factory park brake lever with a spring so that the pawl is held in the disengaged position. Remove the release button and spring, lengthened the factory rod and machined a flanged "knob". Operation is now fly off and the park brake can be applied by pushing the flanged knob forward. Keep the brake shoes adjusted.

Adustment of the system is critical to have this function well. Here in NSW,Australia retaing the factory park brake makes the brake test for registration simpler.

Adjustment is to be done at the handbrake shoes, not at the 6mm nut on the park brake lever.

I have not fitted a new set yet on either the GC Impreza turbo or BC Liberty turbo.

If you are using the park brake alot you may well have issues with overheat and excessive
wear. Both cars fitted with DCCD center diffs with micro switch to open the diff when pak brake activated. I have no experience with this setup for VC center diff tho it should work well with a stock
4kg VC.

Now that would be a tight track !

Just a quick jab then on with the show. It might work for the mean time.

1) Seat time. Seat time. Seat time. Then 100 times more seat time.
2) Did that turn even make a difference? As in, was the driver in question out of the next place up by the amount of time we would guess might have been lost in the turn? Because if that's not the case... screw it, just drive more and have fun.

Grassroots rally. It's what I think about.

Well, for FWD, in all the events I've done I can think of exactly two corners where I wished I'd had a turning brake, and one of those is on a stage that isn't run any more. Both were on narrow hairpins where I didn't have enough room to wag the back end before the corner. It might be useful to have one for rallycrossing, I guess.

For AWD, it doesn't really buy you much unless you have a center diff that can go open when you haul on it. Otherwise all it does is slow the whole car down, which you already have a pedal for.

And I may look into the stock parking brake turn ?

Not being a Rally drive and not being a AWD racer, it was hard to get the car to rotate. So I will do some more driving and see what I can learn.

Sometimes a hydraulic handbrake is a by product of a different improvement, the ability to adjust brake bias.
A stock Subaru 06-07 WRX 4 pot/2 pot brake setup has ~70% front brake bias.
Reducing that bias by increasing rear brakes can be done by running a shittier compound in front or installing a bias valve, which if you are rerunning brake lines, you may as well put in the hydro brake. It also makes U-turns on transits faster, which is important when you stray 5 or 6 miles the wrong way because your codriver was snoozing.
