I'm a little hesitant to start hacking apart my parts car without taking measurements of it first. Is there a standard of where body measurements are taken from? Or does someone have a diagram/pic of another car that I might use as a point of reference to make sure I get the strut tower back to its appropriate location?

Go to your local body shop, that has a frame rack. Let them know what you are doing... build a relationship with them. They May be getting a lot of future work from you.

They will either have the old school books, or the on-line diagrams, with ALL of the measurements. If you build a good enough relationship, they'll let you make photocopies or transfer files to an USB drive.

Maybe even offer to put their name and phone number on the car for local events as free advertising, to a group of people that Will need their services.

Did you check the Bentley/Shop manual? I thought I remembered seeing that stuff in there.

Drew is working at a body shop for the last year. He might be able to snap some pictures and consult. Get him to come out to drive DooWops then come help you repair the car after. smiling smiley
