Just been told that 1030/1031 axles are dirt cheap to build. You can get a lsd and final drive for 400$, shit, I want part numbers and shipping prices... Said author will obviously recognize himself.

If they do not give you work or bread, then take bread.

Lol, did I say LSD? Nope. Just a locker.

The blue rally car is currently on 20+ rallies with a 1030. Al's rally car is in the 20+ rally range, the ex-Hardy rally car is at like 80. All on 1031/1031 rear ends. Welded, lockers, and a torsen.

How many rallies have your toyota swapped 240s done?

Still, as usual, throwing prices around that don't take into account taxes, shipping & installation. You say under 400$, i can see right off the bat that you'll pay more than that just to get the diff and the fd to your door. Don't see any mention of bearings and other items needed to install all that... Pretty sure you're gonna get close to the cost of the toyota setup but it's still a locker in a 1030... Go figure!

And get your facts straight. I've only had the golf for 8 years. It's already done a few endurance races, it just hasn't made it's stage debut yet smiling smiley

You gotta get some better prices mang.
4.88 R&P for a 1030, rockauto.com, $111 plus shipping (about $15)
http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=4956678&cc=1287154&jsn=14

And the 5.38 is even down on price now, $108+shipping: http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=8529344&cc=1287154&jsn=10

Spartan Locker, Amazon $240, frees hipping on Prime: https://www.amazon.com/USA-Standard-Gear-D30-27-differential/dp/B007N3P9DA

Grand total-ish: 136+240= $376 usd. I live in Oregon, no sales tax.

Oh I forgot about installation. I've done three gearing swaps on 1030s using a $25 bearing puller from harbor freight.

Shipping to canada is around 50$ for a fd and that diff is listed at close to 400$ cad on rockauto.

No self doubt, no experience, no shame.

Piggybacking on the achievement of others.

But still pontificating everywhere.

That is sane behavior.

Oh, and is there results somewhere of those endurance races, and what is "a few".

I'll repeat the question here:

Is there results somewhere of those endurance races, and what is "a few".

A few should be changed to the 1 endurance we actually finished. The other races were cancelled and turned into a trackday/sprint races.
No posted results.
Finished first in the endurance race, disqualified due to an issue with our transponder and the software used to record lap times not being friends. They have a strict no-bs policy on protesting.

Here's a sweet lo-fi video though! White golf with the roof, not the white rabbit with no-roof:
