Paint booth
September 14, 2018 07:49PM
We are doing a massive body reconditioning on the Goose in order to not have a shit looking car. NEVER spray paint a car!
Anyhow, redid sunroof patch properly and replaced every hung panel but drivers side door. Getting ready to prime then paint so started building our paint booth today. $500 Kobalt two stage compressor, dryer and nice paint gun kit for around $250 on Amazon, around $650 or so in fancy filler, primer, and paint and about $150 in supplies from hardware store and we are nearly ready.

Now booth...
We will build the front with dual removable dryer vent intakes that can be removed to make a short door. Rear will be sealed with a pair of box fans to keep us under negative pressure. Lots of duct tape and Staples used today!

Getting closer to doing the same thing. Was going to do interior first. What are you using for the interior/engine bay? brush on appliance paint?

I used spray appliance paint in interior. I might paint engine bay if engine ever has to come out.

Very interested in how this works for you. I’m getting ready to have a shop built for my car hobbies and being able to paint them myself as well would be ideal.

Prep is key. If we were painting alot of cars I'd probably buy one of the $1600 inflatable paint booths.
