BMW differentials
February 22, 2008 02:02PM
So a guy in Washington is making and selling brackets to mount the BMW E36 diffs in the Merkur.
He went from posting that he bought a diff and was going to try to install it back on Oct 24, 2007. He had it in the car by Dec. 2, 2007. Then today he announced that the initial batch of five are being made. What an interesting way to operate.
Ironically, it's four years to the day since this was first posted.

Anyhow, it's looking at around $250 plus a solid beam mount setup plus the diff. Ratios are available up to 4.56 stock. The LSD is a clutch type. Here's a link with some info and such on BMW diffs.

Grant there you go stiring the pot again.

Since we are at it...... John, what's going on with the alternator and PS brackets you were making. I need a PS bracket soon.

I'll make it worse. I offered to weld up all the square beams with a 2 week lead time over 6 months ago Grant, if you pay to ship the jig (aka half a rotting Xratty) from WA to CA I'll make it happen for you...
