It depends on how much you plan to use it.

The quality of that "just a nut driver" isn't important at home. If you're on a rally and pull out some piece of junk tool it might not work when you need it most.

As the old saying goes: "You get what you pay for."

I fail to see how one nut driver can be 5x better than another.
If it does fail, during it's rough life as a convenient hose clamp tightener, I have a back up plan ready - use a screwdriver.

Sometimes these things do make a difference, but its usually only to people with "I earn my living with Snap-On (tm) tools, please don't ask to borrow them" stickers on their tool chests. For tightening hose clamps, and for the rest of us, those with "Ass, Grass, or Gas: No Free Rides" bumper stickers*, $7 sounds pretty reasonable.

You can't figure out a scenario where a quality tool might be a better choice? Let me help you.

Picture yourself having to snake a flex driver between a bunch of v-belts and/or wiring harnesses to get to a fuel or coolant hose clamp. Better yet, try that silly plastic covered piece of crap you want to buy around a hot exhaust manifold. On a 1 to 10 scale of degree of difficulty those scenarios might be a 6. Now add a tiny rock, or tiny piece of metal, or damaged threads to the hose clamp which makes it require lots of torque while the tool is flexed into an "S" shape. The degree of difficulty becomes a 10. Try that with a POS tool that will bend into a pretzel.

Yeah, my tool box is filled with Snap-On, Hazet, etc. It also have a little Proto and Craftsman and other crap that I purchased before I knew better.

If you can get to the hose clamp with a screw driver or a socket and extension, then why waste ANY money on a flex driver?

What is it with you guys out west? Is there stupid dust in the air coming off the Pacific?

I looked up Hazet's online catalog for you. If crap is all you want, then buy crap. Don't bitch at me when you're on a rally and you need a REAL tool.

Hey,

Something that werks good is the "wobbly socket" aka UJ socket. Pop it on a speed handle ( or brace, depending on your heritage). More uses than the screwdriver dealy.Plus you can get more crank on it if need bee. I Stick an 'O' ring over the UJ part so its not so wobbly. They are the shit.
