Yeah, and I could lock up the drum brakes in my mail jeep at freeway speeds driving in Oakland traffic. I really don't think that the ability to lock the wheels is any indication of braking ability.

Stock Volvo calipers and rotors are pretty darn good for a street car.
However, making certain things bigger has different effects:
-bigger rotors=more heat storage capacity and more heat dissipation area
-bigger calipers-->generally means larger pad area=longer lasting pads
also-->generally means larger piston area=better pedal modulation

I'm a big fan of modulation, probably bordering on "mushy pedal". But that's me.
