These pictures are just to awesome not to share. Don't use cheap parts and spin them to fast. I'm particularly fond of the hole thru the hood Hey Grant, it's a fucked neon

Hopefully they'll crush it. That's really the best thing anyone could do with any Neon.

My most hated comment is, "But they're fast." Fuck. Pick any car, and I'll show you a fast version of it. There's perverts everywhere. Actually, my most hated comment is when talking about rally cars and the statement that they are cheap. I fight over and over with people to get the 'cheap' idea out of their mind. If you can't afford to build a car or don't have the perseverence to build longer term and spread out costs so you can have a more proper car maybe you should just codrive or volunteer. Damn it Tim. How'd you get me all fired up. You did that on purpose.

I love those neons, they are so cheap and fast! tongue sticking out smiley

Do you know the story behind that failure? Was it revved bags out and then clutch dropped? Or did it just explode while running at high revs? Obviously not the stock setup, no?

The link to the forum posting is at the bottom of the pictures...short version is the "tuner" raised the redline to 8K while driving the customers car and blew it up. Supposedly a heavily built engine, stock flywheel, and a shit clutch. Doh!!!

He's lucky it went through the hood and not into the drivers compartement. I guess that's why some high rpm racers build clutch/flywheel scatter shields in the drivers footwell.

LOL the flywheel was stock so its more like "the clutch not wanting to mate with the Neon flywheel"

But even the crappy base model stuff can scoot along, as long as you don't get an automatic. But that goes without saying for anything that size, really.

I'm told the only reason they made a DOHC head is because people expected it. The SOHC is still 16V and flows really well, and it doesn't have a habit of turning the cam followers into a while-U-wait valve keeper remover...

The Geo Metro with it's whopping 3 cylinders that I drove for a year or so after destroying my first Subaru was fun to drive and scooted along because it was light and didn't require being totally fucking retardedly looking. A Neon is the perfect car for trailer park bleached blonde bimbos that hang lots of Mardi Gras necklaces from the rear view mirror and give the car some cute little name and talk about how it's tempermental at times, which is just that the car is a total pile of shit. They usually get them when they're 16 and 17, but usually one of three things happens to the car around 16-18 years, they wreck them because they suck at driving, the baby's father wrecks it while all meth'd out, or she wrecks it all meth'd out. Then they buy a early to mid 90s Dodge Caravan.

The Neons image is no where near as bad in Canada.. it's still no benz of course.

Generally speaking Canada is car poorer than America.

I can't comment on the meth problem.. My city sure has enough crack... but they don't drive neons smiling smiley
