Pic of main cap 3 and bearing?

What side of the engine are you calling 1? The front or the rear?

My guess would be either oil pump failure, or blown head gasket and water in oil. Those are probably the two most likely causes of the failure. Is there some way to check the oil pump and see if it is working. Another option is gunk blocking the feed lines in the block and crank, though less likely, we have experienced this as causing the failure once in a 4G63.

What did you do with the drained oil? If you mix it up and put it in a clear bottle and let it sit, the oil and coolant would separate and help indicate a head gasket issue.

Get rid of the accusump or get it working. One or the other. Don't leave it though.

The main caps are numbered (look factory), and number 1 is on the front of the motor with the oil pump and crank pulley.

Yeah if there was some way to check the oil pump, that would be great. Any suggestions, anyone ? I haven't cleaned the block / crank and with the absence of a compressor in the garage, haven't been able to blow the lines out.

I have the drained oil in a contriner, and it is not seperated.

If the consensus is that the Accusump should go, then I'll get rid of it (and it sounds like it is). I can't help but wonder if it was installed needlessly or to solve a specific problem.

I do have a few of the pics from my portfolio as my avatars.

But anyhow, I say either get it working or remove it. The question becomes, why was it put in? Contact the owner to put it in and find out if it was preventative, or for an actual problem. If it's already there, and you're having an obvious lack of oil, and it were my car, I'd get it functioning correctly probably.
